We are looking for a junior social media executive to work in our video games division. This will involve working within an established team to both support and amplify their schedule of videos and podcasts across social media, as well as to ideate, pitch, and create original posts and content on a daily basis.

This is an unusual opportunity to join a successful team working with a globally recognised client and an ongoing line-up of the biggest games releases. Your job will be to effectively support the client through authentic, organically performing social media content. The ideal candidate will be a passionate fan of games and gaming with a firm grasp of the biggest existing and upcoming titles in the space.

You will instinctively understand how to create popular content that audiences want to see from trailers, preview events, and full game releases, informing and entertaining with both reactive and planned social assets. And you’ll be able to balance this with the ability to protect and respect the values and reputation of the brand. The role may sometimes require on-camera appearances.

Effectiveness in the role will mean becoming a key part of an established, collaborative creative team and its culture. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the processes at work within both a videogames focused outlet and the wider a creative agency and become familiar with our various contracts and clients. While this specific client will remain the focus, this role could extend into collaboration and ideation on other contracts.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is creativity. A strong understanding of content trends on social media, wider trends in video games, and an expertise in general popular culture are a  must. We need someone with strong ideas and opinions, passionate about delivering superb content. We expect candidates to strive for excellence at all times, and will support them to do that.

Professional experience isn’t necessary, but the ability to show that you have created and managed your own channels and accounts across social media will be a plus.

How to apply
Please send your CV, a short covering letter (no more than 500 words) and links to appropriate examples of your work to hello@wearereach.co.uk with the subject line ‘Junior Social Media Executive’.

The successful candidate will then be selected through interview and a short creative task.

We actively encourage applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and value the positive impact a diverse team brings both to our company and the online communities of which we’re a part.

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilites include:

● Support ideation, asset creation, posting, community engagement, and reporting across all social platforms for a key gaming client

● Daily ideation – identifying social trends and opportunities and pitching reactive content

● Help plan and implement longer term strategy across channels

● Create basic video and static assets independently

● Effectively brief more complex assets in to our studio team

● Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on social activity that inform further asset creation and strategy

● Conduct regular benchmarking against competitors and gather inspiration from both inside and outside the gaming industry

● Intimate familiarity with all key social platforms – X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok

● Expert knowledge of games and gaming culture, as well as wider pop culture

● Editorial creativity – ability to originate video and social ideas and formats and offer collaborative insight

● Sharp social-first copywriting

● Basic Adobe skills (Photoshop and Premiere Pro) for asset creation
